I need to find a new doctor down here. Unfortunately, there are not a heck of a lot of them on my insurance plan, so I’m going to drop by and scope out a group practice, make an appointment if they look reputable. The doctor I chose last year from this limited list is just pissing me off.
This is the second time I’ll have to go on a second round of antibiotics for an ear infection because they don’t take me seriously. I’ve said to them that either I’m resistant to antibiotics, or I’m a particularly delightful environment for bacteria, but either way, when I get an ear infection, I need massive doses of strong medicine to knock it out. The first time, they didn’t believe me, gave me 5 day Zithromax, and I was back on day 7 needing something else. This time, I was taking no chances. I told the doctor that my previous doctor and I dealt with this frequently, and what knocked it out was 600mg erythromycin three times a day for 14 days. OK, she told me, and I walked out with my prescription. I didn’t bother looking, because it seemed like I had been listened to, but when I picked it up, there it was – 333mg erythromycin three times a day for ten days. My ear infection now is raging and the pain is going down the right side of my neck almost down to my collarbone.
Add to this, I had dental work on a couple of upper molars on the right. I think the filling cracked the next day, because there’s a sharp spot, and the tooth is very sensitive to heat and cold. And I think a filling might have broken on my last bottom right molar, because that’s hurting, too. Fortunately, Carolyn has a dentist appointment Tuesday, so I’ll have them look at me, too.
Plus. . .the wet weather has been slowly, languidly making its way through here, which means my precipitation headache has gone on for almost three days now.
If I knew I could take my head off for awhile and continue to live, I’d be working on that right now. Since that’s impossible, I’ll be popping 4 Advils and hoping that takes a little edge off so I can sleep.
