Pardon the vulgarity, but Audrey and I were laughing so hard over this this morning. . .
(From the AP story)
Mud volcanoes are not normal volcanoes, which erupt lava and superheated gases from deep within the earth, said Roderick Stewart, a seismologist at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad. Rather, they are created when natural gases, often methane, escape pressurized areas from shallower levels in the crust.
So this volcano is making a giant mud mountain off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago, and rather than being an Earth Zit, which spews liquid, it’s an Earth Fart, letting off bursts of methane (and mud, but I’m not going to say it – you know what we were thinking. . .)
Mud volcanoes are a common phenomenon on and around the twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago — the world’s fifth-largest exporter of liquefied natural gas.
So. . .the same stuff that’s making the E.F. is being sold by the people who live on the island. . .quite literally, then, “he who smelt it, dealt it.” BWAHAHAHA! Nothing starts a day off right like crude and inappropriate humor with your kids!
