LaundryCam is Fixed.

We took a break from shoveling snow and making a snow fort to get it up and working.  When the snow fort is done, I’m taking pictures.  Those plastic boxes from IKEA make great brick forms.

I’ve been busy trying to learn new stuff on the computer, too, and having a mighty frustrating time of it.  Don’t expect momentous news from me any time soon.  *sigh*

I Hate Weather

I Hate Weather

I’ve had a headache for days.  It’s interfered with my sleep, I haven’t enjoyed things I usually do, and it happens every time it’s going to snow or rain.  The worse it is, the worse the weather will be.  And if it’s a slow-moving system, the headache can last and last.  The weather forecast here is finally predicting snow, but I was predicting it days ago.  It feels as if someone is pressing his thumbs into my temples, and trying to pry my skull apart with fingers down the center of the top of my head.  Even with painkillers, the pressure is there, and I can feel my pulse pounding in my temples and ears.  This stupid snow isn’t supposed to start until tomorrow or Saturday.  The headache won’t fo away until it does.

                        Tofu in Rich Tomato Sauce

Amount  Measure       Ingredient — Preparation Method
——–  ————  ——————————–
16            ounces  firm tofu — cut in 1/2″ strips
  1         tablespoon  ghee
1              large  onion — chopped fine
  4             cloves  garlic — minced
2          teaspoons  fresh ginger — minced
  24            ounces  canned crushed tomatoes
     1/2      teaspoon  garam masala
     1/2      teaspoon  salt
  1           teaspoon  sugar

Cook the tofu strips on a nonstick griddle, or broil in the oven, until lightly browned.  (The tofu will stick until it’s browned the right amount, then it will come away from the griddle easily.)

Melt the ghee in a skillet on medium-high heat.  Add the onion, garlic, and ginger, and cook, stirring, until the onion begins to brown at the edges.  Add the tomatoes, garam masala, salt and sugar, reduce the heat, and cook about 6 minutes.  Puree the sauce in a blender or with a hand blender.  Add the tofu and stir to mix.  Serve hot over rice.
