Michael LaSane

Michael LaSane

I was really happy to read the news today and see that he got what he deserved. Now, instead of having the possibility of parole in another ten years, he’s in jail for good. Of course, his attorney is already planning what they’re going to say in the appeal. This is absolutely shameful. If ever there were a case in which guilt is fully established, this is it. And after that outrageous lies he and his counsel came up with this time, is there any doubt that any “further evidence” will be equally as fabricated? The most blatant, of course, being that his brother did it – despite the fact that his brother was a big bruiser at the time, and Weinstein said on the tape that Michael looked more like 13 than 17; and that his fingerprints got on the photographs of Weinstein’s son when he was unloading the car – except that they were found on her body, and he claimed to have not seen her body at the scene while unloading the car, and his brother’s fingerprints were nowhere to be found. I really hope he’s denied further appeals. The idea of our tax dollars being wasted to defend this guy again when the verdict will most certainly not change gets me pretty angry.

Little-Known Fact About Latex Paint. . .

Little-Known Fact About Latex Paint. . .

It’s a cat laxative. No, you don’t have to make the cats eat it, just try to use it to paint, and the scent does it all. Honest to goodness.

I was finishing up the second coat on the hallway trim, down by the floor, and caught a whiff of a litterbox that needed changing. Immediately. So I cover things so cats won’t walk through them, check my feet to make sure I’m not tracking paint, and go scoop. As soon as that was done, I went back to painting. As I got closer to the hall bathroom, there’s that scent. . .again. So I cover the paint again, check the feet, and scoop the litterbox in the hall bathroom. As soon as that’s done, I go back to painting. I get as far as the top of the hall bathroom door, when I hear that unmistakeable sound from the other bathroom. Scratch, scritch, scratch. Followed by the odor. I pack up the paint, check my feet, scoop again. I go back out into the hall only to find. . .someone used the hall bathroom box while I was scooping the other box. I managed to get all the trim paint done, finally, went to wash all the stuff in preparation for the final touch-up on the walls. After everything is sitting by the sink drying, I open and mix the wall color, dip in the brush, and from the master bathroom I hear. . .scratch, scritch, scratch. I swear, I spent more time scooping cat poop than painting!

So, I’m going to take a break and let things dry a bit more, run an errand, then finish up the paint. That should give them a chance to really get it all out of their systems. Cats. Geez.

I Have So Much to Say

I Have So Much to Say

and so little energy to say it. Honest to goodness, I’m so beat I can’t even see straight. So I’ll finish painting the trim this morning, then take a nap, and then touch up all the mistakes I made because I couldn’t see straight. I haven’t been able to fall asleep before 2AM in four nights. (Darling hubby, I was awake when you came in, but didn’t want to move a muscle in case I was just, at that moment, actually about to drop off. In retrospect. . .)

Anyway, you might have noticed a different URL popping up in your address box when you come here. We’ll be handing over alison.com soon, so we’re now alisonblogs.com. Hubby has already gotten everything pointing here correctly, let me know if something’s not working right for you. alisonsews.com has been woefully neglected, but will be picking up soon, I promise.

I went to a meeting of the NJ Polymer Clay Guild on Sunday, and had a great time. There are so many cool things to learn, and so many ideas for incorporating this with my sewing, beading, and hubby’s glasswork are running through my head. Audrey and Carolyn might come for the next meeting, because there were another pair of girls there, so it wouldn’t just be them and the grownups. I’ll put up some pictures of what we’ve been playing with after they’re all baked.
